We’re delighted to begin finishing-post work for B-Reel’s Bergman project, commemorating the 100th anniversary of Ingmar Bergman’s birth with a documentary feature-length film and a 4 x 60 min TV-series about his life and work.

The project not only investigates the artist, writer and film and theatre director, but also Ingmar Bergman the person. Who was this man whose narrative art touched so many people? The production explores the existential themes of the films that form the core of Bergman‘s influential artistic legacy, and also relates these to his private life. There is emphasis on Bergman‘s unique ability to form and frame his existential dilemmas in an especially entertaining way, as well as illumination of his many fruitful relationships with Swedish actors and colleagues, including Max von Sydow, Harriet Andersson, Gunnel Lindblom, Bibi Andersson, Erland Josephson, Lena Olin, Sven Nykvist, Pernilla August and many others.

The documentary will be aimed at an international festival public as well as a Swedish television audience. It is intended for both a younger cinema audience, who may be unaware of Bergman, and those who are already aficionados of his films and artistry.

Terrassen’s involvement spans pipeline, conform, grade, online/mastering and all theatrical and broadcast deliverables.
